NUIST professor receives Yi-Bing Xie Young Meteorologist Award

The Yi-Bing Xie Young Meteorologist Award for year 2015, which is set by Peking University, was revealed recently. Professor Yubin Li from Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology (NUIST) won this year’s award, together with Xinghua Yang from China Meteorological Administration, Ke Wei from Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Qinghua Yang from National Marine Environmental Forecasting Center, Zheng Sheng from PLA University of Science and Technology and Yunji Zhang from Peking University.
The Yi-Bing Xie Young Meteorologist Award is established to encourage and reward young scholars making tremendous contributions to basic research and application research of atmospheric science, with the aim of promoting young meteorologist and students to carry on the dedicative spirit of older generations. 49 researchers have been awarded ever since its foundation in 2008.
Professor Yubin Li received his B.S. and M.S. degree in University of Science and Technology of China, and Ph.D. degrees from Macquarie University and Institute of Atmospheric Physics in 2013 and 2014 respectively. He then started working in NUIST, and was recognized as professor for his outstanding performance in 2015. He donated the reward afterwards.
